Mo’s Special T’s
Linn Creek, MO
The inaugural Great American 5K launches on Saturday, July 4, and we’re kicking things off with purpose. This first-ever edition lands on America’s 250th birthday, which means the patriotic energy is baked right into the pavement. We’re opening race morning with a fast course. It’s the perfect way to start a holiday built on history—red, white, and a respectable amount of sweat.
With the semiquincentennial as the backdrop, we’re going all-in on the theme. Expect commemorative swag worthy of a milestone year and finisher awards that feel more “display case” than “junk drawer.” Even better, proceeds benefit Heores Outreach.
The Heroes Outreach Program is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing suicide among military veterans and first responders by combatting isolation and the loss of camaraderie.
The program primarily achieves this through “Gatherings”—weekly, informal meetups at local cafes or diners where heroes can share a meal and build a supportive peer network in a relaxed environment. Their ultimate goal is to establish a Gathering location within 20 miles of every veteran and first responder in the country to ensure no one has to face PTSD or life’s challenges alone.
Families, walkers, runners, and the chronically competitive all belong on this starting line. For America’s big 250th, we’re not just marking the day—we’re running straight into it.
